Rosenborg escaped with the horror
Rosenborg’s cup adventure almost ended before it was properly underway.
They got rid of the horror after turning the match from 0-1 to 2-1 against the 2nd division team Levanger. But extra innings were needed, and Bryan Fiabema secured the 2-1 victory for Rekdal’s men.
– It was heavy and seemed hopeless for a while. It was about having faith in it. We know that Levanger is a good team, and they have been very good in the 2nd division. I think it is very impressive of Levanger, says Ole Sæter to NRK.
It started with a magnificent scoring from Simen Hagbø ensured a 1-0 lead for Levanger.
The wingback just shoveled the ball into the net and sent the crowd to heaven.
Just before the break, RBK had a gigantic chance. It was Erland Dahl Reitan who played the ball past the goalkeeper and rolled inside the post. But the home team escaped with the horror.
Then it was Rosenborg’s turn to be a little lucky. The whole Moan shouted hands when the ball hit Sæter’s hand. The referee did not give a penalty kick to Levanger, but the replays show that the ball hit the hand of the RBK striker.
It was not until the second extra inning that Rosenborg’s turnaround operation was a fact, and a former Chelsea player had to. Bryan Fiabema came in from the bench and scored after playing through and dribbling past the keeper.
This means that the big club is on with difficulty and hardly.
