The Norwegian championship in short course swimming (25 meters) 2021 for junior, senior and pair swimmers will be held in Kjølnesbadet in Porsgrunn Thursday 11 – Sunday 14 November.
Technical organizer is the Swimming Club Poseidon Porsgrunn.
Many exciting duels are expected during the four NM days, where many of the swimmers come straight from strong performances in the EC short course in Kazan.
However, our normally strongest cards Henrik Christiansen, Tomoe Zenimoto Hvas and Ingeborg Vassbakk Løyning will not compete in the NC this time. Henrik is ill, and the other two are preparing for the ISL rallies in Eindhoven.
This allows other swimmers to show up in this championship. National team manager Petter Løvberg is looking forward to seeing a lot of good swimming, and is excited about whether new, forward-thinking swimmers show up.
National team manager for the pair swimmers, Morten Eklund, is excited ahead of the National Championships:
– During the autumn, there has been a lot of good swimming, and several of the athletes have shown that they are in development and progress. Many personal and Norwegian records have been set. It will be exciting to see where the athletes stand a few weeks before the Nordic Championships, and whether the progress has continued.
It is also very gratifying to see that there is a record participation and over 10 registered for this weekend’s NM. It sprouts and grows well behind our supposed best, and the NM will be the first time that everyone meets in the same competition.
– We look forward to many close settlements in the NM pool over the next four days, Eklund concludes.
