Ready for EPYG – Norwegian Swimming Association

The European Paralympic Youth Games (EPYG) will be held in Finland from 27 June to 4 July. The main event is added to Pajulahti, while the swimming competition is held in Helsinki. The Norwegian squad gathers at Toppidrettssenteret on Sunday 26/06 for “pre-camp” before leaving on Monday morning.

Norway has a squad of a total of 12 athletes in the sport of bocce, table tennis, athletics and swimming.

The Norwegian Swimming Association has selected the following swimmers for EPYG:

  • Thea Løkebø, Sandefjord Swimming Club
  • Jo Kebriel Nor, Vestbyen swimming
  • Erik Gundersen, Sunndal SLK

EPYG will be a great opportunity to gain international experience and routine. This is the first time our athletes have taken part in an international convention of this format, and they will have the opportunity to compete against athletes from a total of 25 nations.

The swimming lasts two days and our hopefuls will be in action the following days:

  • Friday, July 1st
    Thea Løkebø 400 m freestyle, 100 m backstroke, 50 m freestyle
    Erik Gundersen 100 m breaststroke, 50 m freestyle
    Jo Kebriel 50 m free
  • Saturday 02/07
    Thea Løkebø 100 m free
    Erik Gundersen 100 m butterfly, 100 m freestyle
    Jo Kebriel 100 m butterfly, 100 m freestyle, 200 m IM

The trials start at 10.00 and the finals at 17.00 both days.
